Named Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference…Named NCBWA South Region Player of the Week on April 17…Named SSC Player of the Week on April 15…Appeared in 47 games for the Lions, primarily at third base…Batted .345 in 142 at-bats…Tallied 49 hits, 10 doubles, three home runs. 26 RBI, and 30 runs scored…Led the team and SSC with a .487 on-base percentage…Posted a slugging percentage of .479 and fielding percentage of .906…Totaled 13 multiple-hit games…Best performance came on April 9 at Warner when he went 5-for-6 with a double, a homer, three runs, and five RBI. 

AS A JUNIOR (2012)

CAREER
Spent the 2011 season as member of the Chipola College baseball team under Head Coach Jeff Johnson, where they won the 2011 JUCO State Championship and finished fifth in the nation at the JUCO World Series.

Prior to his time at Chipola, Vitale played his freshman year at Florida International University under Head Coach Turtle Thomas…Helped the Panthers win the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Tournament, and appeared in the Coral Gables Regional of the NCAA Tournament.

A 2009 graduate of Charlotte High School, where he played under Coach Josh Corr…Earned Pitcher of the Year in 2007 as a sophomore…Was awarded Defensive Player of the Year in 2008…Won the Tommy Murphy Leadership Award in 2009…In his senior campaign, Vitale batted .378 with four home runs…On the mound he posted a 301 record with a 2.33 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 21 innings of work…Named to the All-Area Team in 2007, 2008, and 2009…Was high school teammates his senior year with Lions’ second-baseman Ryan Brnovich.
