SAINT LEO, Fla. – In what seems to be too familiar this season, the Saint Leo baseball team has had another game postponed because of bad weather as a strong thunderstorm interrupted the Lions' game against Eckerd College on Friday night. Halted because of lightning in the third inning, the game looked to be heading for a restart before a deluge of rain dumped on Southard Stadium, swamping the playing field.
The game will be restarted at 1 p.m. on Sunday at its point of interruption, with Eckerd leading 4-0 and batting with two out in the third inning.
With this postponement and the shuffling of the other games in the series due to expected severe weather on Saturday, the Lions and Tritons will look to complete this game and the seven inning contest on Sunday. The other nine inning game in the series will be made up at a later date.
