Teasley Repeats as the Conference’s Pitcher of the Week

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Saint Leo junior left-hander Rick Teasley has repeated as the Sunshine State Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, it was announced Monday by league officials.

Teasley, tossed another gem in the Lions' 6-1 victory at Eckerd. Working all nine innings, he surrendered one earned run on six hits with no walks. He struck out nine Triton batters.

The Port St. Lucie, Fla. native is one of 24 Saint Leo student-athletes to be named SSC Player of the Week in 2011-12, and one of three Lions earning the honor this week.

Now earning votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association's South Region poll, the Lions will take their 7-3 overall record to Lake Wales, Fla. and face Warner University on Tuesday afternoon.  First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. For the latest news, information, and updates on Lions' Baseball, visit SaintLeoLions.com.
