SAINT LEO, Fla. – The details are still coming in, but the early reports have Saint Leo baseball alum and 2010 graduate Seth Fowler as Head Coach Russ McNickle’s first Major League Baseball signee when he was picked up by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim late Wednesday night.

After Tommy John surgery forced Fowler to sit out his junior season, the 6’3” righty rebounded to play his final two seasons at Saint Leo, posting an overall record of 2-3 in 30 appearances for the Lions and also adding one save.  He threw a total of 86.0 innings for SLU and totaled 66 strikeouts.  He transferred to Saint Leo prior to his redshirt season after playing the first two years of his collegiate career at Hillsborough Community College.

Fowler will immediately head to the Angels’ minor league facility in Tempe, AZ, where he will train at Tempe Diablo Stadium.
