PENSACOLA, Fla. – After nearly 24-straight hours of heavy rain fell on the Pensacola area over the course of Sunday and Monday, the Saint Leo baseball team will try and get their three-game NCAA South Region series with host West Florida underway on Tuesday afternoon, but not without some significant schedule changes.
The series, originally scheduled for a single nine-inning game to be played Monday evening and a doubleheader on Tuesday, will see the Lions and Argos start play at 4:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday with a nine and seven-inning twin-bill. The later start time will allow West Florida’s Jim Spooner Field at Pelican Park more time to dry after receiving constant rain over the last two days.
After the Tuesday afternoon double-dip, the two teams will close the series with a nine-inning contest that will start at 2:00 p.m. EDT on the University of West Florida campus.
The first game of the doubleheader, as well as Wednesday’s final game will be broadcast live on the Saint Leo Lions AudioCast Network.
