Saint Leo, Fla. (April 24, 2007) – Jorge Burgos (Sr., Orlando, Fla.) was 4-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored, leading the Saint Leo University baseball team (26-22) to an emphatic 14-4 win over visiting Rollins College (24-23) on Tuesday night in a non-conference game.

All but one Lion starter registered a hit in the contest, as Saint Leo pounded out 16 hits in the win.  Jerry Gonzalez (Sr., Tampa, Fla.) and Eric Spicer (Sr., Jacksonville, Fla.) each had a pair of hits and a pair of RBI.  Yunior Tabares (Sr., Tampa, Fla.) and Devon Cason (Jr., Tampa, Fla.) also had two-hit ballgames, as both delivered an RBI apiece.

The Lions opened up their lead with a seven-run second inning and never looked back.  Saint Leo added a run in the third, two in the fourth and four more in the fifth to secure the win.  The Tars scored a run in the fourth and added three in the ninth, but could get no closer than the final margin.

Saint Leo starter Shane Buriff (Jr., Lutz, Fla.) was the winning pitcher, as he went five innings and allowed one run on just two hits.

The Lions will return to Sunshine State Conference action this weekend when they travel to Tampa for a three-game series with the University of Tampa.  The teams will meet in a single game on Friday (7:00 p.m.) with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader slated for Saturday.
