Saint Leo, Fla. (March 5, 2007) – Sean VanGuilder (Sr., Tallahassee, Fla.) was 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and a double, as the Saint Leo University baseball team (11-6) completed a three-game sweep of visiting Saint Anselm College on Monday night at Southard Stadium.

The Lions fell behind when St. Anselm’s Adam Hussey connected on a two-run homer in the bottom of the first.  Hussey led the Hawks on the night, going 2-for-4 and adding a triple to his first inning home run.

The Lions responded by scoring runs in the second, third and fourth innings to open an 8-3 lead.  VanGuilder’s capped off the run explosion with his three-run shot in the fourth.

Saint Leo closed the scoring by adding another three runs in the seventh, as Kyle Hobbs (So., Dade City, Fla.) scored in a double steal, Ricky Nolan (Jr., Seminole, Fla.) drove in a run with an RBI single and Yunior Tabares (Jr., Tampa, Fla.) earned a bases loaded walk to push the 11th run across the plate.

The Lions remain at home on Wednesday when they host the College of Saint Rose for a 4:00 p.m. doubleheader.
