Saint Leo, Fla. (February 16, 2007) – The Saint Leo baseball team (3-3) evened up its record with a 11-4 win over visiting Palm Beach Atlantic (2-6) on Friday night at Southard Stadium.

The Lions pounded out a season-high 12 hits en route to a season-high 11 runs and the victory.  Four Saint Leo players registered two RBI, led by leadoff hitter Jerry Gonzalez (Sr., Tampa, Fla.) who went 3-for-5 and added a pair of runs.

Catcher Ricky Nolan (Jr., Seminole, Fla.) was also 2-for-5 including a two-run home run as part of a three-run first inning for the Lions.

Left-hander Ryan Clark (Jr., Tampa, Fla.) picked up the win on the mound, improving to 2-1.  Clark scattered seven hits and allowed one run in seven innings of work and stuck out 10.

Saint Leo scored 10 runs in the opening three innings to take charge of the contest, and added a pair of runs in the seventh to cement the win.  PBA scored one run in the sixth and added a three-run eighth to round out the scoring for the game.

The same two teams will face off again tomorrow in an afternoon doubleheader.  First pitch of game one is scheduled for noon at Southard Stadium.
