MELBOURNE, Fla. – Thirty student-athletes from all 11 member institutions were selected to the All-Sunshine State Conference softball teams when the league office announced the teams Thursday, May 3 where Saint Leo softball saw four players earn all-conference honors led by
Kacie Kelly, as the lone first team selection.

Kelly, a sophomore second baseman from Jacksonville, Fla., was selected to the All-SSC First Team for the second straight season, where in 2017 she was named the SSC Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year. Kelly is fifth in the conference in batting average at .384 where she had 58 hits with 14 doubles, one triple and 23 RBI. She has drawn 21 walks, scored 40 runs and tallied a .466 on-base percentage as well as a .490 slugging percentage.

Joining Kelly on the all-conference teams were
Ashley Morris,
Brittany Creamer and
Shyanne DuBois. Morris, Creamer and DuBois were all selected to the All-SSC Second Team. It marks the second time in Creamer's career she has earned All-SSC honors, where she was selected as a Second Team honoree in 2016 as a sophomore.

Morris, a Leesburg, Ga. native, finished behind just Kelly on the team in batting average on the season with a .373, and earns All-SSC honors following her first season in the Green and Gold. Morris recorded one extra hit in comparison with Kelly with 59 where she has scored 33 runs, walked 12 times and drove in 23. Morris was second on the team in stolen bases going 15-for-18. Â

DuBois, a Carisle, Iowa native, was third on the team in batting average and earns All-SSC honors following her first season with the Green and Gold. DuBois hit a .349 clip with 44 hits, 24 runs scored, 19 RBI and led the team in stolen bases going 27-for-29 on the base paths this season.

Creamer, a Clearwater, Fla. native, earned second team honors for the second time in her career where she put together a .254/.325/.351 slash line (batting average, on-base percentage, slugging). Creamer tallied 29 hits on the year and scored and drove in 13 runs.

Voting for the All-SSC Softball teams is conducted among the league's softball coaches. According to her peer's, Palm Beach Atlantic head coach Bailey Castro was named the 2018 SSC Coach of the Year.

PBA's Magnolia West and Florida Southern's Shannon Bell were named co-Player of the Year while the Tampa Spartans' Makaleigh Dooley locked up Pitcher of the Year. Kaitlyn Thompson, of Embry-Riddle, was named the Freshman of the Year. All four players, West, Bell, Dooley and Thompson, were First Team All-SSC selections.
