Ferguson and Coppolo Earn Second Team All-SSC Honors

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Junior Leslie Ferguson and graduate student Amanda Coppolo of the Saint Leo women's lacrosse team were named Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference the conference office announced Thursday afternoon. Coppolo earns her second career second team honor while Ferguson picks up her first postseason award.
 
Coppolo caused a team-high 20 turnovers this season while starting all 17 games on the Lions defense. The Guilderland, N.Y., native scored one goal while collecting 27 groundballs. Her lone goal came against the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in the second game of the season.
 
Ferguson was Saint Leo's go-to offensive threat this season as she tallied a team-high 61 goals while dishing out 15 assists. The junior put 82.8 percent of her shots on goal this season with 61.6 percent finding the back of the cage. Ferguson scored 33 of her 45 free position attempts to lead the team and caused 19 turnovers while picking up 40 groundballs.
 
The Lions finished the regular season with an 11-6 regular season record including 2-4 in Sunshine State Conference play.
