Brad Jorgensen of the No. 5 Saint Leo men's lacrosse team were named Player and Coach of the Year, respectively, by the Sunshine State Conference Thursday afternoon while eight other Lions appeared on the All-SSC teams. Four Saint Leo student-athletes earned first team accolades including Gilmour, while five appeared on the second team.

In 14 games for the Lions, Gilmour tallied 63 points from 29 goals and 34 assists with a .468 shooting percentage. The senior from Pickering, Ontario is the SSC leader in points per game (4.50) and assists per game (2.43). Gilmour becomes the first Saint Leo athlete to earn an individual award in men's lacrosse. The first team all-conference honor for Gilmour is the second of his career after earning first team accolades as a sophomore in 2016. Gilmour appeared on the second team as a junior in 2017.

Jorgensen, the 14-year head coach of Saint Leo, earns the Coach of the Year honor after going undefeated (7-0) in SSC play and posting a.929 winning percentage in the regular season (13-1). Under Jorgensen's leadership, the Lions have risen to the fifth-ranked team in the USILA poll, won their first SSC regular-season title, and will host the conference postseason tournament. The honor is the first of Jorgensen's career.

Visintin appears on the first team for the first time in his career after earning a second team finish as season ago. The Wading River, N.Y., native is fourth on the Saint Leo squad in goals with 19 while ranking fifth in assists at nine. Overall, Visintin is fourth on the roster with 28 points while posting a .358 shooting percentage including .642 on goal.

Bye has 17 caused turnovers on the season to rank second on the team despite missing three of the 14 games this season. The Port Coquitlam, British Columbia native has 26 ground balls this season as well and returns to the first team for the second time in his career after earning the honor as a junior in 2017.

Tatarian has started every game in goal for the Lions this season while boasting a 13-1 record. He has 189 saves while compiling a .596 save percentage. His 13.5 saves per game rank tops among SSC goalkeepers by more than two saves per contest. He is second in the league in goals against average among keepers who have played in 11 or more contests this season. This is Tatarian's first, first team honor of his career after appearing on the second team as a sophomore in 2017.

Pauwels, who earns his second, second team honor of his career, leads the Lions in goals with 44 this season and is third in assists with 14. His 3.14 goals per game average is tops in the SSC with the next highest competitor sitting at 2.80 goals per contest. The Kamloops, British Columbia native's 58 points rank him third on the squad. Pauwels boasts the team's best shooting percent at .620 while compiling a .789 percentage on goal. The attacker has collected 28 groundballs while causing one turnover.

Kurtenbach picks up the first all-conference honors of his career after finishing the regular season second on the Lions squad in goals with 36. The attacker has also dished out the second most assists on the team with 23 to finish second on the team in points at 59, just one ahead of Pauwels. Kurtenbach has fired a team-high 79 shots on the season with a .456 shooting percentage including .684 percent on goal. He has collected 38 groundballs this season while causing nine turnovers.

Ticehurst earns his first all-conference honors in just his second season as a collegiate athlete. The sophomore has caused a team-high 19 turnovers this season while scoring three goals and dishing out seven assists. He has collected 38 groundballs on the year while starting all 14 contests. He has also picked up eight faceoff wins for the Lions in 35 attempts.

Taylor has scored 10 goals and dished out 11 assists from his midfield position this season. He has also forced nine opponent turnovers while picking up 41 groundballs. Taylor has placed .760 percent of his shots on goal this season to rank third on the team. The second team honor is the first of his career at Saint Leo.

Langmead picks up his first career postseason honors after causing 11 turnovers and picking up 35 groundballs for the Lions. He has started every game for the Lions on defense while helping the squad go undefeated in conference play.

Up next for the Lions is the 2018 Sunshine State Conference Championship which will be hosted at University Turf Stadium on the campus of Saint Leo University. The top-seeded Lions will face the No. 4 seed Rollins at 7 pm Thursday night. No. 2 seed Florida Tech and No. 3 seed Tampa will battle prior to the Lions and Tars at 3 pm. The Championship match is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1 pm.
