SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's lacrosse team mounted a No. 8 ranking in Monday's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll release. Ascending two spots from No. 10 to No. 8, Saint Leo recorded a 21-6 decision over Sunshine State Conference foe Embry-Riddle on Saturday.
The Lions have found the back of the net 131 times led by
Kyle Pauwels and
Jake Gilmour with 40 points apiece; Pauwels with 27 goals, 13 assists, Gilmour with 20 goals, 20 assists.
Charlie Kurtenbach netted 21 while assisting in 17 to enter the week with 38 points, 21 ground balls and six caused turnovers.
The faceoff specialist for the Green and Gold is
Jordan Williams grabbing 94-of-187 possessions from the 'X.' After eight games, Williams picked up 35 ground balls while fellow midfielder
Julian Taylor picked up 25.
In goal,
Thomas Tatarian tallied 112 saves in 480 minutes of action.
On Thursday, March 29 Saint Leo travels to Palm Beach Atlantic, faceoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
