SAINT LEO, Fla. – The 6-1 Saint Leo men's lacrosse team cracked into the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association top 10 rankings for the first time this season on Monday. Saint Leo improved from last week's No.14 ranking to No. 10 after defeating the then No.16 Lindenwood, now No.19 with a 3-3 record.
Kyle Pauwels was unstoppable in Wednesday's victory. He handed in nine points scoring seven goals and two assists along with picking up two ground balls. For his work he was named Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
On the season, Pauwels has tallied 36 points from 23 goals, 13 assists. His .575 shot percentage currently ranks third in the nation. The Lions' offensive depth is continued by
Jake Gilmour with 19 goals, 15 assists earning 34 points.
Charlie Kurtenbach has also broke into the 30 point figures scoring 17, assisting in 14.
The Lions are back in action on Saturday, March 24 at 1:00 p.m. to open play in the SSC against the Embry-Riddle Eagles.
