SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's lacrosse team downed Queens (N.C.) 13-7 on Saturday. Now 5-1, the Lions progressed from a No. 16 ranking to No. 14 among the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II Coaches Poll.
Saint Leo flaunted a six-goal run that ultimately outlasted the Royals.
Jake Gilmour led the Lions' attack with three goals, one assist. He was named the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his work. On the season, Gilmour has racked up 30 points, scoring 17 goals, 13 assists.
In the net,
Thomas Tatarian added 17 saves to his season count of 88. He was also honored by the Sunshine State Conference as the Defensive Player of the Week.
On Wednesday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. Saint Leo hosts No. 16 Lindenwood. Lindenwood had previously held a USILA No. 13 ranking but dropped a 16-11 decision to Limestone on Saturday.
