SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo sophomore softball player,
Amanda James was named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week after her performance on the field for the week ending March 11.
Amanda James helped the Lions to a 6-1 week, including a 2-1 series win over SSC foe Nova Southeastern. James went 10-for-15 from the plate for a .667 batting average with four doubles and one home run. She drove in five RBI and scored five herself. James tagged 17 total bases on her way to a team best 1.133 slugging percentage and a .700 on-base percentage.
The SSC Player of the Week honor for James is the first of her career, while it is the Lions' third weekly award this season joining
Kacie Kelly and
Alison Mitts.
Saint Leo (20-7) will host Caldwell for a doubleheader Tuesday, March 13 at 11 a.m. at University Softball Stadium.
