SAINT LEO, Fla. –
Kyle Pauwels and
Thomas Tatarian were named Sunshine State Conference men's lacrosse award winners on Monday, February 12. Pauwels earned SSC Offensive Player of the Week while Tatarian was honored as the SSC Defensive Player of the Week for their work in Saint Leo's 20-6 win against Lincoln Memorial on Saturday.
Pauwels, a senior attacker, earned nine points scoring three goals off five shots and assisting in six, plus, three groundballs. Four of his six assists came in the first six minutes of play as the Lions posted a 5-0 jumpstart over the Railsplitters.
Tatarian, a redshirt junior goalkeeper, faced 44 shots, 24 on goal, showcasing 18 saves in the 60 minutes of play.
The #17 USILA Saint Leo Lions return to action on Friday, February 16 at 7:00 p.m. hosting Young Harris.
