Softball signs five prospects to National Letters-of-Intent

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo Head Softball Coach Erin Kinberger signed five prospects to National Letters-of-Intent during the November signing period, all of whom will join the Green and Gold for the 2018-19 academic year.

"We are excited to announce our 2018 early signees," Head Coach Erin Kinberger stated. "This group of women are not only athletically gifted but have a love for the game we strive to recruit and build our program around."

Kendyl Crean
INF / 5-4
Tarpon Springs, Fla. / East Lake HS

Kendyl closed out the 2017 season with a .341 batting average with 29 RBI and 27 runs scored while hitting five home runs in 24 games played. A two-time All-PCAC Selection, First Team (2016) and Second Team (2017) she was selected to the Second Team All-Tampa Bay by the Tampa Bay Times. She is a two-time First Team All-Pinellas County selection. A dual-athlete, Kendyl earned the 2016 MVP Eagle Award for the 2015-16 High School Volleyball Season.

Kayleice Hooks
INF / 5-9
Seminole, Fla. / Osceola Fundamental HS

Kayleice posted a .529 batting average and a .571 on-base percentage her junior season with 36 hits and 24 RBI in 24 games, while being named a First Team All-State selection.

Alli Jaquith
UTL / 5-8
Frankfort, Ill. / Lincoln Way East HS

Collected 44 hits in 120 at-bats for a .367 average with 36 singles, seven doubles and one triple to her credit during the 2017 season. Alli drove in 14 runs while scoring 26 of her own. She concluded her junior season with a .875 fielding percentage.

Emily Pilon
INF / 5-9
Shorewood, Ill. / Providence Catholic HS

Emily led her team with 34 RBI while posting a .385 batting average with 36 hits. She finished her junior season with a .614 slugging percentage and seven home runs while notching a .988 fielding percentage.

Abbey Spitulski
C / 5-6
Winter Garden, Fla. / Ocoee HS

Abbey notched 21 hits in 44 at-bats for Ocoee High School while scoring 19 runs on a .477 batting average.  

Saint Leo softball opens its 2018 campaign up on Feb. 2-4 in Gulf Shores, Ala. where they will take on six non-conference members in Delta State, West Florida, Shorter, North Alabama, Alabama-Huntsville, and West Alabama.
