SAINT LEO, Fla. – In his first season at the helm of the Saint Leo baseball team, Head Coach
Rick O'Dette and the Lions announce the full 2018 schedule, which features 21 home dates for 26 games.
"We are excited to start 2018," Head Coach
Rick O'Dette stated. "Our schedule is going to be extremely challenging, but we believe this group is up for the challenge. We have three important regional opponents the first three weekends, so we know we will be tested immediately. As we know, the Sunshine State Conference will not allow us to take a game off, so we need to prepare every day to get better."
The Green and Gold will open the season on the road in Tennessee and Alabama before opening the 2018 home portion with Sunshine State Conference foe Barry on March 2-3 at Thomas B. Southard Stadium. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. between the Lions and Buccaneers to open play at home.
The Lions will host Tiffin for a double-header on Tuesday, March 6 before playing Bridgeport in four straight days, March 10-13.
After a quick trip to Tampa on March 16-17, the Lions return home to host Eckerd for a non-conference game before Wisconsin-Parkside comes to Southard Stadium on March 27-28, for a three-game series.
Saint Leo returns to SSC play with a trip to West Palm Beach to take on Palm Beach Atlantic before hosting Nova Southeastern, April 6-8, Valdosta State, April 10, and Rollins, April 13-15.
The last four series are split for the Green and Gold as they travel to Florida Tech, April 20-22, before hosting Eckerd, April 29-30. The last road trip of the regular season is set for a trip to Lakeland to play Florida Southern May 3-4.
