SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo sophomore Ronald Cheserek took Sunshine State Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors for the second time in as many weeks following his performance at the 29th annual University of Florida Mountain Dew Invitational on Saturday.
Cheserek finished 12th overall and was the highest placing non-Division I runner at UF's Mountain Dew Invitational. Cheserek posted a time of 25:44.9 on the 8K course, running a 5:10.8 mile pace. He led Saint Leo to a 10th place team finish at the Mountain Dew Invitational out of 24 schools competing.
The SSC Runner of the Week award is the sixth of Cheserek's career.
The Lions will travel to Charlotte, N.C., on Thursday to compete in Friday's Queens University Royals Challenge. The men's race will take place at 4:30 p.m.
