SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo senior Amanda Jakobsson was named the Sunshine State Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, following her individual championship at the 2017 UNC Pembroke "Battle at Old South" over the weekend.
Jakobsson fired a 72 in Saturday's first round and followed up with a 68 in Sunday's final round. The 68 was tied for Jakobsson's second lowest collegiate round, and tied for sixth-lowest round in program history. The individual title at the "Battle at Old South" was the second time in three seasons that Jakobsson has won a tournament on that course, and the third tournament title of her collegiate career.
The SSC Women's Golfer of the Week honor is the first of Jakobsson's career.
Saint Leo women's golf will be back on the links on Monday, Oct. 9, and Tuesday, Oct. 10, competing in the Nova Southeastern GolfRank Invitational at the PGA National Golf Club.
