SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo sophomore
Henrik Dahrendorff was named the Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday, after winning two individual events and helping in two more Saint Leo victories in relay events during last weekend's University of Tampa Spartan Invitational.
Dahrendorff won the 100 Breaststroke (54.13) and 200 Breaststroke (1:58.45) at the Spartan Invitational, setting new Saint Leo records in both events. Both times were NCAA "B" Cut qualifying times, as well as the fastest times in the SSC this season in those events. Dahrendorff's 100 Breaststroke time was the fastest in NCAA Division II this season, while the 200 Breaststroke time is the fifth-fastest in the nation.
Dahrendorff also swam for Saint Leo's first place teams in the 200 Medley Relay (1:29.40) and the 400 Medley Relay (3:15.52), which were also Saint Leo record performances. Both times also met the NCAA Provisional qualifying standards in those events, and were the fastest times in the SSC this season.
The SSC Men's Swimmer of the Week award is the first of Dahrendorff's career, and the first for Saint Leo this season.
Saint Leo men's swimming returns to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 6, at the Tampa Relays, hosted the University of Tampa.
