SAINT LEO, Fla. – After helping No. 23 Saint Leo volleyball to a 2-1 record, including back-to-back 3-0 sweeps to close out the regular season,
Jenya Kruglova closes out her career with one final Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week award, for contests played Nov. 13-18.
Jenya Kruglova picked up her third Defensive Player of the Week honor this season, and of her career, after her performance on the court against Florida Southern, Florida Tech and Embry-Riddle.
Kruglova helped the Lions (22-6, 16-4 SSC) hold opponents to a .174 hitting percentage after scooping up 50 total digs on the week. Kruglova posted double-digit digs in all three matches with back-to-back 18 dig matches, before closing out the regular season with 14 against Embry-Riddle.
The Moscow, Russia native finished the matches against Florida Tech and Embry-Riddle with a 1.000 reception percentage, with no errors in 13 attempts. On the week, she finished with a .944 reception percentage with just two errors in 36 attempts. Kruglova added nine assists to her weekly stat line.
Kruglova and the Lions remain in the hunt as they await their NCAA Division II postseason fate with the volleyball selection show at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Nov. 20.
