Student / Post Graduate Internship Program

Overview

The goal of our internship program is to develop young professionals in the area of Strength and Conditioning.

The Saint Leo Strength and Conditioning department works weekly with over 300 athletes who compete at the highest level in the Sunshine State Conference. Your internship experience will lead to exposure in areas including, but not limited to; traditional strength exercises, corrective exercises, warm-up protocols, recovery methods, program methodology and design, and nutrition. Other specific areas will be based on daily duties and/or facility upkeep.

Qualifications

It takes a significant amount of the staff’s time to develop an intern.

Our applicants should be highly motivated to pursue a career as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, or a similar position in an alternate setting. They should be available to devote most of their day to being at the facility working with athletes, or on continuing education. Other ideal qualifications include: basic Microsoft Office proficiency; being personable, self-motivated, team orientated, professional, and able to speak in front of large groups.

Expectations

Interns can expect to have early mornings and long days. Active learning will be required - be prepared to be put through a workout and be "coached up" by the staff. We expect our interns to be highly motivated to learn and do what is asked of them - an open mind to various training paradigms and thought processes is a must!

An internship with Saint Leo Strength and Conditioning is un-paid.

Once your application is sent, you will receive a series of follow-up correspondence.
