Andrell Amith joined the Saint Leo University women's basketballprogram as an assistant coach just before the 2013-14 season. Smithjoined the Lions after graduating from the University of SouthFlorida in May of 2012, where she played as a point guard for twoseasons.

Smith joined a Lions' basketball program that saw much successduring the previous two years. During the 2012-13 season alone, theLions made their first trip to the Sunshine State ConferenceChampionship game. In her first full season with Saint Leo, theLions turned in their best season in program history, posting arecord 20-10 record, during the 2013-2014 campaign, and advancingto their first-ever NCAA Division II Tournament. 

Though new to the coaching sphere, Smith is very familiar withthe game of basketball. During her two seasons with the USF Bulls,Smith was named Defensive MVP and selected to the All Big-EastSecond Team in 2013. In addition, her leadership skills earned hera spot as a team captain during her senior season.

Prior to her experience at USF, Smith was a member of the GulfCoast Community College team in Panama City, Fla. In two seasonswith the junior college Smith's team won back-to-back conferencechampionships and won the 2010 Junior College NationalChampionship. In 2010, Smith was also named to the Junior CollegeNational All-Tournament Team.

The Lakeland, Fla. native also spent time as a basketballtrainer and camp counselor for numerous organizations in the TampaBay area.

Smith earned her bachelors degree in Arts and Sciences from theUniversity of South Florida in May of 2012.
