Reidy, Fredrickson to Speak at NACDA National Convention

ORLANDO, Fla. – Saint Leo Athletic Director Francis X. Reidy and Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations Vicki Fredrickson will both serve as key speakers at the annual convention of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) this week at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Fla.

Reidy, who has served Saint Leo's athletic department for over twenty years, has played a key role in the success of Saint Leo athletics. His previous experience as a coach and sports information director combined with his tenure as an athletic director make Reidy a prime candidate for speaking to professionals in the field of college athletics.

On Wednesday, June 12 at 9:40 a.m., Reidy will address numerous professionals in a session entitled "Marketing Your Career in Intercollegiate Athletics" brought to the convention by the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA). He will be accompanied by Peggy Davis, Athletic Director for Virginia State University, as well as Laurie Wilder, the Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Parker Executive Search.

Later in the week, Reidy will also serve as a moderator for a breakout session entitled "Division II - Building Your Athletics Brand Through Social Media."

While Reidy speaks at a session brought to the conference by the MOAA, Saint Leo's Senior Woman Administrator and Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations Vicki Fredrickson will be speaking at a session organized by the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC).

Fredrickson, who recieved her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Saint Leo University in 1999 and 2004, brings a vast sum of knowledge to the conference thanks to her twelve years of service to the Lions athletic department.

Her session, entitled "Division II - Teaming With Your Financial Aid Office" will focus on whether compliance and financial aid offices at various universities work together effectively to adhere to university, conference, NCAA and federal guidelines. Accompanied by Patrick Sterk, Associate Athletic Director at the University of North Carolina Pembroke, the 2 p.m. session on Thursday, June 13, will also address best practices, policies and procedures to ensure compliance while easing the burden of both offices and allowing both sets of professionals to be better teammates.
