Tennis Notes

  • The Saint Leo tennis teams hit the road this week, as the women head to Tampa on Tuesday afternoon, while the men play at Rollins on Wednesday.
  • The No. 29 women’s team is 5-5 on the season but are 1-3 in Sunshine State Conference play. Their only SSC win so far is over Eckerd.
  • The No. 3 Saint Leo men’s team is 7-3 on the season, and 2-1 in SSC play, recently falling to No. 2 Barry.
  • Tampa enters the match with the women with a 7-4 record and a 2-3 SSC record. The Spartans have topped Nova Southeaster, who was No. 15 in the nation at the time, and Florida Tech, 6-3.
  • Rollins enters the men’s match with a 7-7 overall record and a 1-1 SSC record. The Tars are coming off, hard fought, back-to-back losses against No. 23 St. Mary’s and No. 10 Embry-Riddle.  The Tars are ranked No. 28 in the ITA poll.
