MEN'S TENNIS GETS ITS TURN AT THE ITA SOUTH REGION TOURNAMENT

Saint Leo Men’s Tennis to Spend the Weekend Competing in Lakeland

SAINT LEO, Fla. – After taking the women to what proved to be a successful weekend in Valdosta, Saint Leo University Tennis Coach James Bryce will now shift his focus to the other end of the spectrum as he takes the SLU men’s tennis team to Lakeland, Fla. as the Lions will compete in the ITA Regional Tournament between Thursday, October 1st and Sunday, October 4th.
The Lions will leave for host school Florida Southern College on Thursday morning and are scheduled to compete against individuals and teams from around the South Region Conference including the Gulf South Conference, the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and other members of the Sunshine State Conference.
Every Saint Leo men’s tennis player, except one, will make the trip and compete. After getting a first-round bye, sophomores Jose Morales’ match starts at noon while Yves Jacobs’ and Julian Jean-Pierre’s start time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sophomore Michael Calloway, who does not receive a bye, will be one of the first Lions to get things underway on Thursday morning.
Junior Richard Maclachlan holds the latest start time of all the Lions as he will participate in his first match at 3:30 p.m.
The Lions will travel to Lakeland each day they remain in the tournament.
